📐 What is the AIMO?
The Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO) is run by the Australian Maths Trust and is one of the most challenging school mathematics competitions available internationally. It is pitched at Year 10 level but open to any talented student in Years 7–10.
Unlike the AMC which has multiple choice questions, the AIMO requires students to construct full solutions and write mathematical proofs — a much deeper level of mathematical thinking. This is genuine Olympiad-level mathematics.
AIMO results are used to identify students for AMT's elite high-performance programs — which can lead to representing your country at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the world's most prestigious maths competition.

📋 Competition Format
10 questions of increasing difficulty over 4 hours. Unlike multiple-choice competitions, students must show full working and write mathematical proofs for the hardest questions.
